News Fountain Gallery mourns loss of founder and friend May 13, 2006 Fountain Gallery is deeply saddened to announce the passing of our friend, leader and colleague, Esther Montanez on Friday, May 5, 2006 at the age of 70. She was the original fire and soul of the Gallery, and a legendary figure at Fountain House. She will be missed, but her legacy remains very much alive. There will be a memorial service on Saturday, June 3, 2006 at 11:00 AM at Esther's church, St. Luke’s Lutheran, 308 46th Street (between Eighth and Ninth Avenues) followed by a celebration of Esther's life at Fountain House, 425 West 47th Street (between Ninth and Tenth Avenues) at 1:00 PM. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Esther Montanez Memorial Fund at Fountain House.
